Stephen Curry and Clay Thompson, guards for the Golden State Warriors, are referred to as the Splash Brothers by their teammates. Both players are regarded as some of the greatest shooters in the history of the game, and their partnership is widely regarded as one of the most productive in the annals of NBA success. Curry and Thompson now hold the record for most three-pointers made by a pair of basketball players in a single season. The competition for shots from beyond the three-point line has been won by both of the guards. They have qualified for the NBA Finals a total of six times, during which they have achieved victory four times.
Stephen Curry was selected seventh overall in the 2009 NBA Draft, while Clay Thompson was selected eleventh overall in the 2011 NBA Draft. Neither player was regarded as a high school superstar, but both went on to have successful collegiate careers and were selected in the first round of the NBA Draft. They were the first defenseman from the same club to be named to the All-Star Game since 1975 and the first defensemen from the same team to be selected to the League National Team since 1980. Both of these accomplishments occurred during the 2014-2015 season. During the previous season, their spectacular performance helped GSW win its first title in almost four decades. After then, they were a member of the Warriors team that won three more championships in the years 2017, 2018, and 2022. Both Curry and Thompson were members of the United States team that competed and placed first in the World Championships in 2014.
