During the years of their "life" Evanescence the soloists have created their own distinctive style of performing music. This individual style combines several musical directions, namely nu-metal, gothic and alternative rock. Tracks of Evanescence band can't be mixed up with other bands.
Evanescence band became known immediately after releasing their debut album. The first compilation hit the top ten, so the tracks from Fallen, which was released in 2003, must be listened to by fans of heavy music.
The History of Creation and the Composition of Evanescence
History of the cult band Evanescence started in 1994. The band was formed by two men - vocalist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody. The young people met at a Christian youth summer camp.
At the time they met, Amy Lee and Ben Moody were no more than 14 years old. The teens lived in Little Rock, Arkansas, USA, and both wanted to create.
The young man turned his attention to the girl after she played a Mit Lowe song on the piano. Moody favored 1980s heavy metal, while Lee listened to Tori Amos and Bjork. The young people quickly found common ground. Although the teens shared common goals, they never dreamed of becoming world famous.
The official source states that the band started their activity in 1995. However, the first joint records appeared three years later. In 1999, musician David Hodges joined the young people. He took the place of a backup vocalist and keyboard player.
After the release of Origin compilation the musicians started looking for new members. Soon new musicians Rocky Gray and guitarist John LeCompte joined the band.
At first the new collective's tracks were played only on Christian radio stations. Hodges did not want to deviate from the chosen concept. The other members wanted to develop further. There were tensions in the band, and soon Hodges left Evanescence.
The Evanescence band performed in the Little Rock counties. The musicians had no opportunity to develop as they worked without the support of a producer.
The signing of Dave Fortman and the departure of Ben Moody from the band
To "promote" the band, Amy Lee and Moody decided to move to Los Angeles. Upon their arrival in the metropolis, the musicians sent out demos to all sorts of recording studios. They hoped to find a decent label. Fortune smiled on the new group. Producer Dave Fortman got them promoted.
In 2003 the Evanescence line-up expanded again. A talented bassist Will Boyd joined the band. But not without losses - Ben Moody announced his intentions to leave the band. The fans did not expect such a turn of events.
Ben Moody and Amy Lee originally positioned themselves not only as colleagues, but also as best friends.
