Earl Simmons, aka DMX, is one of the most famous rap artists in the world, best known in the early to mid-twenties for several classic albums. In 1991 his first work caught the attention of The Source magazine and DMX appeared in the Unsigned Hype column.
Dmx's first single on the Ruff Ryders label "Get At Me, Dog" went gold, and he didn't take long to release two albums at once for 1998 - "It's Dark and Hell Is Hot" and "Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood", which featured such hits as "Ruff Ryders Anthem" and "Slippin". Both albums sold over three million copies, and DMX suddenly woke up as a superstar.
In 1999, he released his third album, "...And Then There Was", which went five times platinum and spawned the legendary hit "Party Up". By 2001, he released another album, The Great Depression, which was less successful than his previous releases, but still went triple platinum.
Earle also had less successful releases like Grand Champ, Year of the Dog... Again, Weight In EP and Undisputed, which received much less feedback than all of his past works. Closer to 2015, rumors surfaced that DMX and Swizz Beatz were working on a new Simmons album, but so far there has been no word on the album.
In total DMX has sold over 30,000,000 copies of albums, making him one of the best-selling musicians worldwide.
